My first holiday

Mummy and Daddy have taken me to the Isle of Wight for a long weekend. We are staying in a lovely thatched cottage with views over the Downs on one side and if Mummy holds me up I can see the river Yar on the other side. The birds tweet all day long and it even smells as if we are on holiday! The silence is almost deafening and the people here on the island are all so friendly. Uncle Ben gave me a sun hat before we left - I love it because sometimes the sun is really shiny and it hurts my eyes. Thank you Uncle Ben! We like it here and I think we will come again...

This morning, Mummy went riding on a big horse called 'Soldier'. She was happy. Daddy and I came to wave her off and Daddy passed me up to Mummy on the horse. Daddy was shouted at by a short girl with a big bum - she said it was dangerous. Oh dear... what is the world coming to? I wanted to ride with Mummy but they told me I was too small.

Yesterday Daddy went off to the Downs while I had a siesta. He took his new paraglider and flew above the lush green hills in the warm south westerly breeze while the sheep went baa baa down below. He had a good time - later that afternoon Mummy went to get her toes painted and I had to sit and be good while all the ladies came to coo at me! It's tough being a bubs.
Tonight I had a lovely warm bath and changed into my pyjamas and then I was naughty as I did a poo. At first it was nice and warm but soon it went cold and I needed a nappy change badly. It took Mummy and Daddy a while to work out what was wrong - they eventually found out and then I was able to settle into a deep sleep while they watched Jane Austen on the tele. (I think Daddy pretended to be interested while he checked the weather forecast for tomorrow) Mummy loves romantic dramas.
Tomorrow is our last day here and we will catch the ferry back on Tuesday morning. We will definately come again - hopefully Uncle Ben and Gran Gran will come. Daddy wants to fly here on his motorized paraglider with Uncle Ben - there is a perfect field here by the cottage where they could land. I can't wait to learn how to fly!

Hello Sebastian - I enjoyed your latest post especially the bit about the short girl with a big bum. Before you get Daddy into trouble you may want to change the bit about his new paraglider... he's only borrowed it! See you when you get back x
